What is IELTS and why it is necessary?


                                                 
IELTS stands for INTERNATIONAL ENGLISH LANGUAGE TESTING SYSTEM.

It is the test which checks the proficiency of the person in the English language.
The person who wants to work and study in abroad countries like Australia, Canada, New Zealand had to give the IELTS because English is the mode of communication in these countries.

To work in any firm or to study in any foreign university it is necessary to clear IELTS.
Countries like Australia, Canada, Ireland, Uk, New Zealand ask for the IELTS.


 IELTS is recognized by the companies, universities and other government sectors.
Generally IELTS is of two types:

  •         Academic Training
  •         General  Training
Academic training test is only for studies whereas General training test is both for study as well as for working.


Academic Training Test

Academic training test is used for immigration and work visa.
The Speaking and listening section of the test is same as of General Training Test but the Reading and Writing section of the Academic Training test is different from the General Training Test.

General Training Test                                             

General Training Test is usually for Admission in Universities. The speaking and listening section of the test is same for both where as the reading and the writing is different for academic and general training test.

 IELTS Exam Pattern

You need to clear all the 4 exams that comprises of listening, speaking, reading and writing.


 You can only apply for the foreign studies if you will clear all exams with good bands.
IELTS Scoring

 Overall there are 1-9 bands in IELTS and your scoring depends on the how well you performed in the exam. And the overall score is also considered in that.

 If you will qualify the test than your score will remain valid for 2 years. You can join the IELTS classes in Chandigarh and be the master in English.
